Pastry Commis / Demi Chef de Partie – Full‑Time

About the role

Marriott International is looking for a motivated Pastry Commis/Demi Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team at its Vagator Beach Road property in Goa. You will support the pastry department by preparing ingredients, cooking, and maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, chop, wash, peel, and store fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure, mix, and cook foods according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers; test foods for doneness and monitor temperature.
• Prepare cold foods, set up and break down work stations, and ensure proper portioning.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Follow all company safety, security, and food‑handling policies; report any hazards or incidents.
• Communicate professionally with team members and support a collaborative work environment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related pastry or kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive kitchen tasks.

Required skills

• Operating kitchen equipment (ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers).
• Food preparation techniques including portioning, chopping, weighing, and measuring.
• Food safety and sanitation practices.
• Temperature monitoring and control.
