Material & Corrosion Engineer

About the role

The Material & Corrosion Engineer will lead material selection and corrosion protection strategies for offshore wind projects, including HVAC and HVDC platforms, across locations such as the Netherlands, Germany, and Taiwan. The role bridges engineering design and fabrication support, ensuring compliance with international and regional standards while delivering safe, reliable, and cost‑effective solutions for marine environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop Material Selection Diagrams (MSDs) and corrosion control philosophies, including protective coating, liner, and cathodic protection specifications.
• Specify thermal insulation coatings and define MIC (Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion) control measures and inhibitor requirements.
• Ensure compliance with DNV, ISO, IEC, and NACE standards, as well as EU and local Taiwanese regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical guidance during fabrication and resolve site queries related to coatings, corrosion, and galvanic isolation.
• Perform corrosion risk assessments, define inspection and maintenance plans, and contribute to HAZID/HAZOP reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in FEED/EPC projects as a material and corrosion engineer, preferably in offshore oil & gas or wind.
• Strong knowledge of marine corrosion mechanisms, hot‑dip galvanization, and material compatibility.
• Familiarity with offshore platform structural interfaces and regional supply‑chain practices.
