Lead Software Technologist I – UI

About the role

Lead the development of intuitive clinical user‑interface applications used by clinicians in high‑acuity environments. Collaborate closely with UX teams and clinicians to ensure the applications meet strict usability and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across modern UI technologies and C++ layers for embedded devices.
• Mentor platform and application development teams on software architecture, design patterns, and embedded‑system best practices.
• Establish and enforce quality standards, development methodologies, and coding practices aligned with IEC 62304 and FDA regulations.
• Conduct rigorous code reviews, optimize performance in resource‑constrained embedded Linux environments, and drive adoption of AI‑enabled development tools.
• Collaborate with product management, QA, regulatory, and other engineering leads to define and deliver features.
• Support software lifecycle activities including sustaining engineering, defect resolution, and platform evolution.

Required profile

• 15+ years of hands‑on experience in front‑end/UI‑heavy application development for embedded or regulated systems.
• Deep expertise in modern C++ (C++11/14/17/20), templates, STL, and design patterns.
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, UI architecture, and performance‑critical rendering.
• Experience with medical communication protocols such as HL7, FHIR, IEEE 11073 SDC, and DICOM (preferred).
• Proven ability to work with embedded Linux, Yocto/OpenEmbedded, and cybersecurity requirements for medical devices.
• Hands‑on experience using AI Agent Technology as a development companion.
