Senior Embedded Software Engineer – Linux Kernel, BSP & Yocto

About the role

Philips is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join its Hospital Patient Monitoring team in Bangalore. You will work on advanced monitoring solutions, designing and delivering scalable Linux‑based embedded software while mentoring junior developers.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse functional requirements and design high‑quality embedded software solutions.
• Lead architecture decisions, develop Linux drivers and BSPs for iMX‑based devices.
• Write maintainable C/C++ code, create unit and component tests using GTest and BDD practices.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software issues; produce technical documentation.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in Linux development, with at least 6 years building custom embedded Linux OS using Yocto/BitBake.
• Strong background in embedded hardware bring‑up, device‑tree, bootloader and kernel driver development.
• Experience in healthcare or real‑time applications is a plus.
