About the role

The Head of Labour & Employment Law and HR Policies will lead the firm’s employment law practice, providing strategic advice on statutory compliance, workplace policies and employee relations for both external clients and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage the labour and employment law practice, ensuring up‑to‑date compliance frameworks.
• Draft, review and update HR policies, employment contracts, standing orders and related documentation.
• Represent clients before labour authorities, tribunals and courts, handling litigation on disputes, disciplinary actions, terminations, wages, social security and grievances.
• Conduct legal research, prepare opinions and advisory notes, and train stakeholders on legal and policy requirements.
• Coordinate with other practice areas (e.g., criminal, cyber) where employment issues intersect.
• Mentor junior lawyers, develop best‑practice guidelines and support business‑development initiatives.

Required profile

• Extensive expertise in Indian labour and employment law, including statutory compliance, industrial relations and employee benefits.
• Proven track record of handling employment‑related litigation and appearing before labour courts and tribunals.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret legislation, case law and regulatory guidance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience designing and delivering training sessions for legal and HR audiences.
