Legal Counsel

About the role

DPDzero is building India’s leading collection infrastructure for the BFSI sector. The Legal Counsel will act as a strategic partner, shaping contracts and compliance frameworks that support rapid growth while mitigating risk.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate client and vendor agreements, including NDAs, MSAs and SLAs.
• Create standard contract templates and fallback clauses.
• Partner with Sales and Operations to accelerate deal closures.
• Advise leadership on legal risks, new product structures and partnership models.
• Ensure compliance with RBI guidelines, the DPDP Act and BFSI outsourcing norms.
• Monitor regulatory updates and implement necessary changes.
• Identify and mitigate contractual risks, support audits and due diligence.
• Coordinate with external counsel for dispute resolution and litigation matters.
• Embed strong data‑protection clauses in all contracts and align with tech teams on data security.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in BFSI, Fintech, NBFC or law firms.
• Strong background in contract negotiation and drafting.
• LLB / LLM and qualified to practice law in India.
