Fabrication Fitter – Metal Fabrication Specialist

About the role

The Fabrication Fitter role is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Chennai. You will interpret engineering drawings and fabrication sketches to mark, cut, bend, and assemble metal components for a variety of projects.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication sketches to plan work.
• Mark, cut, bend, and assemble structural metal parts, pallets, pressure vessels, tanks and piping.
• Fit and align structural components and support welding operations.
• Perform grinding, finishing and basic welding‑support tasks safely using hand and power tools.
• Inspect completed work for dimensional accuracy, alignment and overall quality.
• Coordinate with welders, supervisors and electrical/automation teams while maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Required profile

• Proven experience in metal fabrication fitting, including structural, PEB, tank and piping assembly.
• Hands‑on ability to use cutting, grinding, drilling and measuring tools.
• Capability to inspect finished components for accuracy and quality.
• Knowledge of safe work practices, PPE usage and machine safety procedures.
• Relevant technical qualification or vocational training in fabrication, welding or mechanical trades is preferred.
