Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

ABB is looking for a Buyer to support the Electrification business within the Smart Power division. You will be responsible for purchasing materials that meet technical specifications while ensuring cost‑effectiveness, timely delivery, and compliance with corporate policies.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate and process Purchase Orders in the ERP system based on requisitions and standard procedures.
• Confirm delivery schedules with suppliers and monitor performance against purchase order requirements.
• Negotiate agreements, renew price lists, and manage terms and conditions with key suppliers.
• Identify and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with the category team.
• Recommend and execute frame agreements after management approval.
• Analyze bids to select the optimal value for the organization.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–6 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, and vendor management.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical commodities.
• Experience in inventory management and supplier coordination.
• Familiarity with SAP‑MM module is an advantage.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
