Assistant Manager - Risk Containment Unit

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Risk Containment Unit will lead the risk and fraud management function for the Payments business of Bajaj Finance Limited, focusing on the Acquiring QR segment. You will oversee the full lifecycle of risk, from onboarding checks to transaction monitoring and portfolio oversight, ensuring merchants are vetted and monitored effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end risk and fraud management for the Acquiring QR business.
• Conduct onboarding verification, transaction monitoring and portfolio reviews.
• Daily review of risk‑triggered cases, verify business data and perform merchant calls for early risk identification.
• Update internal systems with actions taken and maintain accurate records.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports on risk trends, thresholds and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with business, operations and data teams to refine processes and implement fraud controls.
• Decide on merchant quality, and manage activation or deactivation based on risk assessments.

Required profile

• Graduate or post‑graduate degree.
• Good understanding of the payments ecosystem.
• 1‑2 years of experience in NBFC or banking environments, preferably in calling or document verification.
• Ability to work under pressure, ensure 100% monitoring accuracy and respond quickly to special situations.
