Assistant Manager - Payments & Merchant Acquiring

About the role

Bajaj Finance Ltd. is expanding its QR acquiring business and is looking for an Assistant Manager to build and lead a new sales team in Hyderabad. You will be responsible for driving merchant acquisition, QR and POS deployments, and achieving transaction volume targets.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train and motivate Field Operations Staff (FOS) to ensure high productivity.
• Acquire new merchants and oversee QR, SB and POS/EDC deployments.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key decision‑makers for business development.
• Map and manage distribution coverage, channel relationships, and retailer payment reconciliation.
• Collaborate with partners on sales promotions and store activation initiatives.
• Ensure process rigor, controllership, and visibility at points of sale.

Required profile

• Graduation or MBA with 2‑4 years of relevant experience.
• Prior exposure to payments, FMCG or telecom prepaid sales is mandatory.
• Experience handling merchant relationships directly.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills and high energy.
• Self‑starter with a passion for field work and retailer engagement.
