Zonal Merchant Lead

About the role

The Zonal Merchant Lead is responsible for driving merchant acquisition and activation across a defined geographic circle. This role combines sales, distribution management and cross‑functional coordination to grow the brand’s presence among both small merchants and large‑format retailers.

Key responsibilities

• Sales & distribution management for the assigned zone.
• Merchant acquisition within the circle.
• Leverage deep geographic knowledge to deploy resources effectively.
• Activate both small merchants and large‑format retail partners.
• Ensure brand visibility in the marketplace.
• Support cross‑functional teams to foster merchant business growth.
• Provide merchant servicing and relationship management.
• Plan and execute strategies to meet targets for acquisition, activation, unique customers and throughput.
• Train, develop and mentor team leads and merchant executives.
• Coordinate with key functions such as marketing, MIS and sales to secure business support.
• Monitor competition and devise winning market strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sales and merchant acquisition.
• Strong understanding of local market dynamics and geography.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, train and mentor teams.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
