Vice President – Impairment Control

About the role

Barclays is seeking a Vice President to lead the Impairment Control function, overseeing the IFRS9 impairment framework and ensuring robust SOX and regulatory compliance. Based in Noida, you will work closely with Finance, Risk, Model and Technology teams to embed a sustainable control environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior leadership and assurance over the impairment control environment, aligning with SOX, internal standards and regulatory expectations.
• Own end‑to‑end governance of impairment controls, acting as the primary liaison with Internal and External Audit.
• Partner with Finance, Risk, Model and Technology stakeholders to design and maintain a resilient control framework across all impairment portfolios.
• Develop and implement stress‑testing methodologies, analyse results, and advise on capital adequacy and risk mitigation.
• Manage data flows, data quality and documentation required by regulators, and track progress through steering committees and workflow tools.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in financial controls, SOX compliance and audit management, preferably within IFRS9 or credit‑risk processes.
• Proven ability to lead complex audit engagements and handle regulatory scrutiny.
• Strong understanding of risk, control frameworks and governance models.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
