Transportation Operations Specialist – Amazon Freight

About the role

The Transportation Operations Specialist works in Amazon's Transportation Operation Center (TOC) to ensure smooth inbound and outbound freight movement between vendors, fulfillment centers and carrier hubs. The role acts as a liaison among carriers, vendors, internal teams and customers to resolve exceptions quickly and maintain on‑time delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor inbound freight from vendors to fulfillment centers, ensuring pickups and appointments are met.
• Track outbound shipments from fulfillment centers to carrier hubs and final customer delivery.
• Identify and resolve exceptions across the transportation network, communicating updates to all stakeholders.
• Analyze data trends to propose and implement process improvements.
• Generate ad‑hoc reports using internal tools and databases.
• Collaborate with internal departments such as Retail, Finance, Software Support and Fulfillment Operations.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of logistics and supply‑chain operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to research issues, make real‑time decisions and drive resolutions.
• Analytical mindset to notice trends and suggest improvements.
• Motivation to drive customer experience without compromising timelines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Excel for data extraction and analysis.
• Experience using Access or similar database tools.
• Knowledge of SQL for querying internal data sources.
