Transport Executive

About the role

The Transport Executive will lead the planning and execution of daily transportation activities, ensuring efficient logistics, cost‑effective fleet management, and full compliance with safety regulations. This role supports the broader supply‑chain objectives by coordinating drivers, warehouse teams, and third‑party logistics providers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee transportation operations, including route planning, scheduling and fleet deployment.
• Manage vehicle maintenance schedules, monitor performance metrics and coordinate repairs or upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, driver hours of service and vehicle safety standards, maintaining accurate records.
• Develop and control transportation budgets, identify cost‑saving opportunities and prepare financial reports.
• Negotiate contracts with carriers and logistics service providers, evaluate performance and maintain strong relationships.
• Maintain comprehensive shipment documentation and generate regular reports using TMS.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in transportation, logistics or fleet management.
• Thorough understanding of DOT regulations and transportation compliance.
• Knowledge of supply‑chain operations and vehicle maintenance standards.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, communication and negotiation abilities.
• Problem‑solving mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and GPS tracking software.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with route‑optimization and fleet‑management tools.
