Trade Apprentice (ERTS I) – 69 Positions

About the role

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) is offering 69 trade apprenticeship positions (ERTS I) across Bihar and Jharkhand. The programme is open to candidates holding a degree, diploma or ITI qualification in relevant streams and provides hands‑on experience in the power‑grid sector.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers and technicians in installation, testing and maintenance of electrical and civil infrastructure.
• Support routine inspection and troubleshooting activities on power‑grid assets.
• Participate in on‑site projects related to electrical, civil and electronics & communication trades.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and report progress to supervisors.

Required profile

• Degree holders in Electrical Engineering (16 posts) or Civil Engineering (12 posts).
• Diploma holders in Electrical Engineering (14 posts) or Civil Engineering (7 posts).
• ITI certificate in Electrical Engineering (4 posts).
• Candidates with a Bachelor’s in Arts, BBA or BBA IT (5 posts) for assistant human‑resource roles.
• Eligibility for all categories (General, OBC, SC/ST, Female) with no application fee.

Required skills

• Fundamental knowledge of electrical circuits and systems.
• Basic understanding of civil construction principles.
• Familiarity with electronics and communication concepts.
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow safety procedures.
