Technician – Engineering Stores

About the role

We are looking for a Technician to support engineering stores and plant material management at Castrol’s Silvassa facility. The role ensures smooth receipt, storage, issue and documentation of spares, consumables and scrap while complying with statutory and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Handle day‑to‑day engineering stores activities including receipt, inspection, storage, preservation and issue of materials and spares.
• Label, code and arrange spares, tools and equipment systematically; maintain store layout for easy access, FIFO, safety and 5S compliance.
• Assist material arrangements for plant shutdowns, maintenance schedules and project requirements.
• Maintain accurate records in the inventory management system (JDE) for receipts, issues, returns and stock transfers.
• Monitor FIFO, shelf‑life and ageing of inventory; identify slow‑moving, non‑moving and obsolete items.
• Participate in cycle counts, physical stock verification, reconciliation and audit support.
• Support monthly provisioning of inventory and spares in coordination with engineering and finance teams.
• Process purchase orders, goods receipt notes and billing documents as required.

Required profile

• Experience in engineering stores or material handling environments.
• Familiarity with inventory control procedures and statutory compliance.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, finance and operations teams.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety and 5S standards.

Required skills

• JDE (or similar ERP) for inventory management.
• Inventory management and stock control.
• Material handling and FIFO implementation.
• 5S workplace organization.
