About the role
Monolithic Power Systems is seeking an Application Engineer to support customers with power‑delivery solutions for CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs and other high‑performance devices. You will work closely with design, field‑applications and marketing teams to debug schematics, replicate issues on lab benches and deliver technical training.
Key responsibilities
- Debug customer schematics or board issues, reproduce problems on bench test equipment and generate detailed test reports.
- Perform hands‑on lab evaluations, system‑level and board‑level debugging, and prototype demonstrations.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support existing products and drive new product development.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience designing switch‑mode power supplies, especially multi‑phase core power designs.
- Proven problem‑solving ability in high‑power/high‑current multi‑phase products.
- Fluent English communication, strong writing and presentation skills.
Required skills
- Design of switch‑mode power supplies, multi‑phase architectures, and converter control loops.
- Use of lab tools: oscilloscope, digital multimeter, power supplies, electronic loads, function generator.
- Simulation with Simplis (preferred) and PCB design/layout.
- Familiarity with communication protocols: I2C, PMBus, SVID, DVID, SDLE, VR14.x.
