Technical Lead – ABAP Specialist (SAP S/4HANA)

About the role

ReNew is seeking a Technical Lead to drive the design and delivery of complex SAP ABAP/S/4HANA solutions. The role will focus on building robust, high‑performance extensions that support the company’s clean‑energy operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement end‑to‑end SAP ABAP, S/4HANA and BTP solutions.
• Create and enhance RICEF objects, CDS views, AMDPs and OData services.
• Ensure code quality, security and performance compliance (ATC/SCI).
• Collaborate with functional, integration and architecture teams to translate business needs into technical designs.
• Promote clean‑core principles and modern extensibility patterns such as BAdIs, APIs and RAP.
• Optimize HANA‑based applications through code push‑down and efficient data access.
• Develop and integrate APIs using SAP CPI/BTP or other platforms.
• Conduct code reviews, provide L2/L3 production support and mentor junior developers.

Required profile

• 12‑15 years of hands‑on SAP ABAP development experience.
• Strong background in S/4HANA development (CDS, AMDP, RAP preferred).
• Proven expertise in OOABAP, ABAP Workbench and RICEF objects.
• Experience building OData services and REST/SOAP API integrations.
• Hands‑on with SAP BTP, CPI or similar cloud extensions.
• Deep understanding of HANA performance optimisation techniques.
