Tech Support Engineer - EV After Sales

About the role

Exponent Energy, which builds the energy stack for commercial EVs in India, is hiring a Tech Support Engineer in Bengaluru within its After Sales Support team. The engineer provides technical support to field teams, resolves complex issues and helps keep EV systems running with high uptime. The role reports to the Service Manager - Battery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide remote and on-field technical support for electric vehicles.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot battery packs (Li-ion) and powertrain issues.
• Analyze failure data and provide root cause analysis.
• Coordinate with OEMs, field service teams and customers to resolve issues, keeping turnaround times met.
• Support battery swap operations and failure investigations, and perform and manage battery pack rework.
• Maintain service records and prepare technical reports.
• Train and guide field technicians, and escalate critical issues to engineering teams with proper documentation.
• Support Design for Service (DFS) activities by giving field feedback and driving design improvements.

Required profile

• Diploma, B.E. or B.Tech in Automobile, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 3-8 years of experience in after sales operations and customer support; EV, commercial vehicle or bus experience preferred.
• Experience with EVs or heavy commercial vehicles preferred.
• Willingness to travel extensively to field locations and to work in shifts or on-call support if required.
• Good English; fluency in Telugu and Hindi is a plus.

Required skills

• Understanding of high-voltage systems and CAN communication.
• Electrical diagnostics and knowledge of the EV ecosystem.
• Structured problem-solving, quality of work and ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
