Team Manager – Content Operations

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Team Manager to lead a group of Process/Data Specialists responsible for the completeness, quality and end‑to‑end content flow of Scopus, one of the world’s largest abstract and citation databases. You will oversee operational performance across ingestion pipelines, clustering, deduplication and quality diagnostics, acting as the senior escalation point for cross‑functional issues.

Key responsibilities

• Lead governance of Scopus completeness standards, quality benchmarks and coverage‑gap closure.
• Oversee content ingestion and production workflows to ensure timely, accurate flow into Scopus.
• Manage exceptions and escalations, collaborating with Content, CSD, PRM, SDM and technology teams.
• Review Power BI dashboards and reporting metrics to ensure actionable insights on completeness, speed and quality.
• Ensure discard, retraction, correction, citation‑accuracy, clustering and deduplication processes are completed compliantly and on schedule.
• Mentor and develop Process/Data Specialists, setting goals, reviewing performance and fostering an inclusive culture.
• Drive process improvement, resource planning, automation and AI‑enabled data literacy initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in any discipline with at least 5 years of experience in content operations, data/content quality or scholarly publishing.
• Strong understanding of bibliographic database completeness, content ingestion pipelines and metadata standards.
• Proven people‑leadership skills with experience managing experienced individual contributors.
• Ability to handle ambiguity, manage escalations and partner with senior management on strategy.
