Tax Specialist – Financial Services

About the role

PwC’s Financial Services Tax practice is seeking a Specialist 2 to support corporate tax services for its clients. The role involves advising on local and international tax matters, assisting with tax structuring, and helping clients navigate complex regulatory environments. You will act as a strategic consultant on business analysis, working capital management and profit sharing for partners.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare engagement letters, scopes of work and statements of credentials.
• Assist the team with ROI preparation, online registrations, digital signatures and filing of tax assessments, rectifications, appeals and other submissions to tax authorities.
• Maintain internal anti‑money‑laundering records and client/assignment acceptance documentation.
• Support PAN application preparation, submission and follow‑up with NSDL and tax authorities.
• Respond to client queries, provide advisory and regulatory guidance, and maintain MIS databases.
• Participate in Central Excise (CE) matters and prepare presentations on foreign portfolio investor tax and regulatory issues.
• Assist in training new joiners and monitor the PwC FII Mumbai email inbox.

Required profile

• Commerce or related graduate with 0‑3 years of relevant experience.
• Basic knowledge of tax and accounting concepts.
• Familiarity with direct tax, corporate tax, DTAA, corporate law, international tax, FEMA and transfer pricing is advantageous.

Required skills

• Understanding of Indian tax filing procedures and PAN application processes.
• Ability to prepare and review tax documentation and regulatory submissions.
