Tax Consultant II – US Corporate Tax (Kolkata)

About the role

Deloitte is seeking an experienced Tax Consultant II to join its Business Tax Services team in Kolkata. You will support U.S.-based corporate and investment clients with tax compliance, reporting, and advisory work, collaborating with cross‑functional teams in a global environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review U.S. federal, state, and international tax compliance workpapers, calculations, and returns for corporate and investment management clients.
• Support tax compliance engagements, including business tax returns, tax projections, and tax accounting activities.
• Perform detailed reviews of tax research, regulated investment company workpapers, excise tax calculations, and tax‑related financial statement disclosures.
• Prepare partnership tax workpapers, allocations, and returns, and assist with tax planning and advisory projects.
• Coordinate with client contacts and internal teams to gather, validate, and organize information required for tax filings and related deliverables.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in U.S. Federal Tax, covering corporate, partnership, private wealth, trust, and investment management.
• Experience with hedge funds, private equity, mutual funds, and regulated investment companies.
• Proficiency with Forms 1120 and 1065.
• Enrolled Agent certification or actively pursuing it.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related business field.
• Prior Big 4 experience or equivalent is a plus.
