Sustainability Controller – ESG Governance & Reporting

About the role

We are seeking a Sustainability Controller to lead the governance and control framework for our Group’s ESG disclosures and reporting. You will work within the Sustainability CFO function, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance of sustainability data across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the governance process, timelines, documentation, and control standards for metric and disclosure owners.
• Challenge, approve, and act as a subject‑matter expert on proposed sustainability metrics and disclosures.
• Serve as the primary contact for stakeholders on metric, disclosure, and reporting matters.
• Coordinate with data providers to embed the control framework and enhance data quality.
• Perform content and analytical reviews of Group sustainability disclosures, assessing revisions and impacts.
• Support assurance activities and act as the liaison between auditors and internal teams.
• Conduct metric reporting risk assessments and integrate new ESG regulatory requirements into business‑as‑usual processes.

Required profile

• Qualified accounting designation (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
• Strong controlling experience in a financial institution and solid accounting background (IFRS, US GAAP) with knowledge of banking products.
• 10+ years of experience in financial services or an accounting firm, including sustainability reporting.
• Deep understanding of ESG disclosure frameworks and upcoming regulations.
• Excellent problem‑solving, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
