Senior Auditor

About the role

Mastercard’s Global Internal Audit team provides independent assurance and advisory services across the enterprise. The team is looking for a Senior Auditor based in Pune, India to lead financial, operational, regulatory and technology audit engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Execute financial, operational, regulatory, technology and advisory audits in line with Internal Audit methodology and quality standards.
• Participate in audit planning by understanding business processes, assessing risks, defining scope and developing audit procedures.
• Evaluate design and operating effectiveness of controls, document workpapers and communicate testing status and issues.
• Identify control gaps, root causes and improvement opportunities, and develop practical remediation recommendations.
• Draft clear audit observations and reports, and engage with process owners, stakeholders and audit leadership.
• Track management action plans, support ongoing risk assessment and contribute to continuous improvement of audit processes.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.
• 3‑4 years of audit experience, including statutory audits under the Indian Companies Act.
• Experience evaluating financial, operational, regulatory and internal controls.
• Background in information technology audits such as IT general controls, cybersecurity or information security.
• Strong written and verbal communication, stakeholder management and analytical skills.

Required skills

• Chartered Accountant (CA) certification.
• Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Data analytics or audit tools.
• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) – preferred.
• Knowledge of IT general controls and technology risk.
