Supply Chain Planner – Pan India

About the role

The Supply Chain Planner will be based in Delhi and will oversee material movement for Birla White across India. The role ensures timely availability of raw materials and finished goods, aligning sales, marketing and logistics functions to execute the SnOP logistics plan efficiently and cost‑effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Manage pan‑India material movement, ensuring timely delivery of goods from Birla White plants to depots and customers.
• Coordinate order collection from sales offices and generate rakes within defined time windows.
• Plan monthly rake schedules based on depot inventory levels and SnOP requirements.
• Track empty and loaded rakes, monitor loading positions, and arrange placement of empty rakes.
• Negotiate container freight rates with Concor and optimise freight costs against market competitors.
• Oversee container movements from terminals to depots/customers, considering free‑day inventory and lease demands.
• Monitor last‑mile freight rates and adjust logistics plans to minimise costs.
• Manage coastal shipping schedules, handle seasonal slot availability and avoid demurrage charges.

Required profile

• Proven experience in supply chain or logistics management within a large‑scale manufacturing environment.
• Ability to coordinate across sales, marketing and plant logistics teams.
• Strong understanding of inventory planning, rake generation and freight negotiation.
• Familiarity with pan‑India transportation networks and coastal shipping operations.
