Structural Design Engineer – Turbo Machinery

About the role

We are seeking a Structural Design Engineer to develop and optimise structural components for turbo‑machinery products such as enclosures, base frames, skids and ancillary parts. The role is based in Chennai and requires at least four years of hands‑on experience with modern CAD tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design and model structural parts, sheet‑metal components and full assemblies using Creo (version 4.0 or higher).
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, bill of materials and documentation for large‑scale assemblies.
• Select appropriate structural materials for on‑shore and off‑shore applications and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
• Perform equipment layout, packaging and integration studies for turbo‑machinery installations.
• Manage engineering change requests and revisions, preferably through Windchill.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including mechanical, hydraulic and electrical engineers.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in structural design of turbo‑machinery or related heavy‑industry products.
• Strong proficiency with Creo 4.0+ (part modelling, sheet‑metal, assemblies, detailing).
• Good knowledge of GD&T, manufacturing processes and standards (EN, DIN, ISO, ASME).
• Experience handling large assemblies and producing detailed engineering drawings.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
