Staff Engineer – Display Driver

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of the display subsystem for next‑generation IoT platforms. You will work across the full software stack, from low‑level Linux kernel drivers to high‑level user‑space compositors, driving innovative multi‑display and power‑management features.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement high‑performance display drivers using the Linux DRM/KMS framework for Snapdragon platforms.
• Integrate and bring‑up third‑party display hardware such as MIPI DSI panels and bridge chips (DSI‑to‑HDMI, DP‑to‑HDMI, LVDS).
• Develop display features in user‑space frameworks including Weston/Wayland and Android’s Hardware Composer/SurfaceFlinger.
• Optimize subsystem performance and power consumption by managing DPU resources and implementing techniques like VESA DSC.
• Debug complex issues across hardware and software using JTAG, Lauterbach, and trace tools.
• Collaborate with GPU, video, multimedia, and hardware design teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Lead upstream contributions of drivers and features to the Linux kernel and open‑source communities.

Required profile

• 8–12+ years of embedded software development experience focused on display or multimedia subsystems.
• Strong background in Linux/Android kernel internals and device driver development.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional projects and mentor engineers.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a passion for driving technical excellence.
