Software Engineer – Test Automation

About the role

Arista's AGNI platform provides cloud‑native network access control and zero‑trust security for enterprises worldwide. As a member of the test automation team, you will work closely with backend engineers, protocol specialists, and CloudOps/SRE to build and maintain the automated test infrastructure that validates the entire platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement end‑to‑end automated test suites for authentication flows, REST APIs, policy enforcement, and device onboarding, primarily using Go.
• Own test coverage for domains such as RADIUS/EAP, TACACS+, captive portal, and PKI, from test planning through failure triage and maintenance.
• Develop and extend internal test utilities (simulated RADIUS/EAPOL clients, browser automation, certificate helpers, API wrappers).
• Analyze test failures, distinguish flaky tests from real bugs, reproduce issues in lab environments, and collaborate with engineers to resolve them.
• Maintain and improve Jenkins CI pipelines, reducing flakiness and shortening feedback loops.
• Contribute targeted code fixes to improve testability and log clarity.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns on test design and debugging practices.
• Participate in incident post‑mortems and close gaps in test coverage.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field.
• 3–6 years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on test automation.
• Proficiency in Go (preferred) or Python for production‑grade automation code.
• Solid Linux administration and debugging skills (process management, networking tools, log analysis).
• Hands‑on knowledge of enterprise authentication protocols (802.1X, RADIUS, EAP‑TLS, PEAP, TEAP, TACACS+, PKI).
• Experience testing REST APIs and working with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Strong debugging instincts and clear written communication.
