Software Engineer in Test (SEIT)

About the role

Cermati is seeking a Software Engineer in Test to design and execute comprehensive test plans for its fintech platform. You will automate complex scenarios across web, mobile and API layers, ensuring high quality releases. The role works closely with engineering and QA teams in a fast‑paced, Agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed, well‑structured test plans and test cases.
• Write and maintain automation scripts for web, mobile and API testing.
• Execute automation suites, report issues and track them to resolution.
• Produce clean, readable code and collaborate on code‑base improvements.
• Participate in daily stand‑ups, sprint planning and backlog grooming.
• Coordinate with engineers and QA teams in Indonesia to prioritize and resolve defects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• 2‑6 years of experience in automation testing of software applications.
• Hands‑on experience with web, mobile and API testing (manual and automated).
• Strong knowledge of manual and automation testing methodologies.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as JavaScript, Java or Python.
• Experience with Agile development processes.
• Familiarity with testing tools like Selenium, Appium, TestNG.
• Experience testing APIs using Postman, JMeter or similar tools.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab) and version control (Git).
• Understanding of HTTP, DNS, IP, client‑server interactions and Linux/Unix commands.
• Must be based in Bangalore (onsite, non‑remote).
