Software Engineer in Test (SDET) – 4-6 years

About the role

Nykaa is looking for a motivated Software Engineer in Test (SDET) to join its fast‑growing quality engineering team. You will own both functional and automation testing for web, mobile web, Android and iOS applications while ensuring high performance and reliability of customer‑facing services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks using Selenium, Appium, BrowserStack and related tools.
• Create and manage test plans, test cases and regression suites for front‑end and back‑end components.
• Execute end‑to‑end testing across web, mobile web, Android and iOS platforms.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and support API/micro‑service testing with Postman/Newman.
• Leverage AI‑assisted testing tools (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) for test design, data generation and defect analysis.
• Perform performance testing using JMeter and analyze caching strategies.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define test strategies and ensure traceability.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of experience as an SDET or similar test automation role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.

• Programming: Java, Python (ability to learn new languages).

• API testing: Postman, Newman.
• Databases: MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Amazon RDS.
