Software Engineer II – Java Microservices & AWS

About the role

Join the AI & Engineering team as a Software Engineer II, focusing on building and maintaining Java‑based backend services that run on Amazon Web Services. You will work in a collaborative environment to deliver high‑quality micro‑service solutions for mission‑critical client applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications and APIs using Java 8+, Spring Boot and micro‑services architecture.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and delivery teams to analyse requirements, support solution design and implement features across the software development lifecycle.
• Build and support cloud‑based solutions on AWS, including containerised deployment environments.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives and peer reviews.
• Identify opportunities for automation, performance improvement, defect resolution and process enhancement.

Required profile

• 4‑7 years of professional experience with Java, Java EE, Spring Boot and micro‑services development.
• Strong hands‑on experience with core Java concepts (exception handling, collections, concurrency, streams, lambdas).
• Proven ability to design efficient, secure and maintainable backend code.
• Experience working in Agile teams and delivering cloud‑native solutions.
