Software Engineer II

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Software Engineer II to join its Payment Networks team. You will help shape the customer experience by building high‑quality, cloud‑native microservices using modern Java technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java 8+ microservices following SOLID principles.
• Utilize Spring Boot and Event‑Driven Architecture to create scalable, reusable components.
• Work in a CI/CD pipeline within a cloud environment, applying best‑practice coding standards and quality gates.
• Select appropriate persistence solutions (RDBMS, NoSQL) based on business needs.
• Conduct proofs‑of‑concept to address emerging requirements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across Mastercard to ensure project success.
• Participate actively in an Agile/Scaled Agile Framework environment.

Required profile

• Passionate about technology with strong object‑oriented programming skills.
• Good knowledge of product development lifecycle.
• Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with Event‑Driven Architecture is a plus.
• Background in online or real‑time systems development.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and cloud‑based development.
• Effective communicator with quick learning ability.
