Software Engineer II – Core Applications (React/TypeScript)

About the role

Five9’s Core Applications team is building next‑generation UI products on a modern React + TypeScript stack. As a Software Engineer II you will develop new features for the agent desktop and related tools, working in a distributed, async‑first environment and leveraging AI coding assistants daily.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, test and ship features for the new agent desktop using React, TypeScript and Nx.
• Own well‑scoped work end‑to‑end, from implementation through testing to deployment.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold the team’s quality standards.
• Collaborate asynchronously with engineering, product and design teams across Australia, India and the US.
• Contribute to planning activities via Jira, documentation and Slack.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript; familiarity with other modern frameworks is a plus.
• Experience with testing tools such as Jest and/or Playwright.
• Ability to work autonomously on a fast‑paced team and make reasonable decisions without constant direction.
• Excellent written communication for a remote, async‑first environment.
• Prior use of AI coding tools and willingness to evolve those skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
