Software Engineer II – C++/Java Development

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Software Engineer II to join its payments technology team in Pune. You will work on high‑quality C++ and Java code, ensuring robust testing, performance, and scalability for critical payment applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, unit test, and system test C++ and Java components.
• Maintain code quality through test coverage, configuration management, and early performance testing.
• Create and monitor quality gating and automation strategies, including code coverage and API testing.
• Design and implement test automation solutions for user journeys.
• Participate in project reviews, walkthroughs, and inspections, providing feedback on test plans and automation.
• Support junior team members and may lead smaller initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong programming experience in C++ and Java.
• Solid understanding of payment domain concepts.
• Experience with quality review processes, test automation frameworks, and BDD practices.
• Familiarity with both agile and waterfall testing methodologies.
• Ability to communicate technical directions across teams.
