Software Engineer – AI‑native EHR (Remote)

About the role

Careway is building an AI‑native electronic health record (EHR) platform to empower health advocates and improve senior care. As a Software Engineer you will own features from design through production, working across AI, data modeling, billing workflows and more.

Key responsibilities

• Build the EHR: create features and systems that enable practitioners and allow the platform to scale.
• Take a problem from idea to production, shipping continuously every day.
• Leverage AI to increase productivity and improve the way we build the product.
• Maintain a healthy codebase by refactoring, fixing bugs, and ensuring reliability for healthcare operations.
• Work across the stack as needed – frontend, data layer, background jobs, and infrastructure.

Required profile

• Strong fundamentals: solid data modeling, sane API design, deep debugging ability, and clean code.
• Backend experience with Python and Django.
• Experience building with AI/LLMs or a rapid ability to adopt them.
• A bias toward shipping: take ownership and follow through without heavy supervision.
• Good judgment and clear communication to explain reasoning and incorporate feedback.
