Senior/Staff Backend Engineer – Java (Remote – India)

About the role

Oscilar is building an AI Risk Decisioning™ Platform that helps banks, fintechs and digital organisations manage fraud, credit and compliance risk. As a Senior/Staff Backend Engineer you will design, build and maintain the core infrastructure that powers this SaaS platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, high‑performance, low‑latency backend services using Java and AWS.
• Collaborate with product, frontend and QA teams to define technical requirements and ensure smooth integration.
• Optimize existing services for performance, reliability and maintainability.
• Identify and resolve system bottlenecks, monitor health and take corrective actions.
• Implement best practices for code quality, testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of backend development experience with Java and AWS.
• Proven ability to build and operate low‑latency, high‑scale services in a distributed environment.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and independent work skills.
