Staff Forward Deployed Engineer – Professional Services

About the role

As a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer in Databricks' Professional Services team, you will partner with a diverse set of customers to solve complex big‑data challenges on the Databricks Platform. You will act as a trusted advisor, delivering scalable data‑engineering and AI solutions across multiple cloud environments while shaping automation utilities for broad reuse.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate on high‑impact customer projects, creating reference architectures, how‑to guides, and production‑ready tools.
• Advise strategic customers on big‑data transformations, third‑party migrations, and end‑to‑end AI application design, build, and deployment.
• Provide architectural expertise and support key projects to ensure successful adoption of Databricks solutions.
• Partner with Engineering and Customer Support to deliver feedback, resolve issues, and drive continuous product improvements.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience with big‑data technologies (Apache Spark, Kafka, cloud‑native data lakes) in a customer‑facing, post‑sales or consulting role.
• 6+ years designing and delivering big‑data architectures independently.
• 2+ years implementing AI‑based solutions such as Retrieval‑Augmented Generation, context engineering, etc.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to guide multiple projects simultaneously.
