Software Development Manager

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Software Development Manager to lead a high‑performing engineering team focused on building scalable, low‑latency systems that power Coupang’s e‑commerce and Eats Tech platforms. In this role you will combine technical expertise with people‑management skills to drive customer‑centric product delivery and foster professional growth within your team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage an agile team of professional developers dedicated to building a scalable, stable, and manageable system.
• Recruit and hire developers in line with the team’s goals.
• Assist each team member with career‑building through 1:1 evaluation and counseling sessions.
• Define the system architecture together with other developers.
• Understand and prioritise requirements; collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to establish a roadmap and execute plans.
• Define, measure, and report key performance indices.
• Support the team’s software implementation and operation.
• Lead improvements in development and management support.
• Lead standardisation and improvements in business processes.

Required profile

• More than 10 years of software development experience.
• Over 4 years of software development management and architecture‑related duties.
• Strong verbal and written communication with proven technical leadership.
• Experience with agile software methodology.
