NXP's MPU Engineering (ACE) team develops and delivers Systems-on-a-Chip (SoCs) for its Automotive, Edge and Radar Processing business lines. The SoC Hardware Architecture team within this group produces architectural solutions ranging from cost-sensitive, low-power devices to highly integrated, high-performance multi-domain devices that meet automotive and industrial safety and security standards. This role is based in Noida.
Key responsibilities
- Architect complex SoCs in leading-edge process nodes, covering multiple processors, coherent and non-coherent interconnects, memory controllers, Ethernet interfaces, high-bandwidth accelerators and high-speed peripherals such as PCIe.
- Work with cross-functional architecture teams to define system-level SoC platforms for a specific product class or technology solution, scalable across many product types and tiers.
- Deliver architecture specifications including detailed use-case definitions, hardware/software partitioning, alignment with industry standards and relevant KPIs.
- Collaborate with design and execution teams throughout the product development cycle so the solution is deployed in commercial products.
- Develop specifications for internal and third-party IP, take part in make-vs-buy analysis and select the right IP.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline with at least 15 years of relevant experience.
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science with 10+ years of experience preferred.
- Experience designing or architecting complex SoCs with multiple independent compute environments.
- Exposure to ISO 26262-compliant and mixed-criticality architectures.
- Track record of assessing performance, power and area trade-offs and of defining IP components to solve system issues.
Required skills
- Deep knowledge of ARM architecture specifications.
- Expertise in one or more of: coherent and non-coherent interconnects, DDR memories, interconnect/system memory QoS, power and operating-state management, PCIe, USB, networking, debug, boot, virtualization, machine-learning compute or multimedia and pixel processing.
- Ability to work at system level, balancing hardware and software partitioning with software architects.
