Senior Technician – Engineering HotBox

About the role

Bloom Energy’s Mumbai team is looking for a Senior Technician to support the Engineering HotBox program. The role involves hands‑on development, testing and maintenance of solid‑oxide fuel‑cell HotBox equipment across multiple product lines.

Key responsibilities

• Perform metal cutting, grinding, polishing and mechanical fitting/plumbing tasks on test stations.
• Set up, modify and troubleshoot HotBox test rigs under engineer guidance.
• Carry out routine testing, maintenance and repair of testers and related equipment.
• Coordinate parts and fixtures with vendors and track inventory movements.
• Assist engineers with data processing, report preparation and basic CAD modeling.

Required profile

• ITI or Diploma in Mechanical, Production or Metallurgy (or equivalent).
• 2–6 years of hands‑on experience in mechanical fabrication, fitting or testing environments.
• Ability to work safely with heavy lifting and PPE.
• Good written and verbal communication and a team‑oriented attitude.

Required skills

• Metal cutting, grinding and polishing.
• Mechanical fitting and plumbing of tubing and fittings.
• Troubleshooting and basic repair of test equipment.
• Basic computer skills: Microsoft Outlook, Office and Excel data analysis.
• Familiarity with CAD modeling software (preferred).
• Knowledge of fuel‑cell HotBox technology and related standards (a plus).
