Senior Technical Product Manager – Modernization

About the role

Here at Appian, the Senior Technical Product Manager will own the lifecycle of core platform capabilities that power AI automation for large enterprises, working from our Chennai office in a high‑velocity, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the quarterly plan, prioritize the feature backlog, and lead delivery for a major product area.
• Prioritize sprint and release backlog by balancing technical debt, platform scalability, and business impact.
• Write detailed specifications for the team and fellow product managers.
• Track adoption and usage of new features, applying metrics and analytics.
• Own features through documentation, go‑to‑market, bug prioritization, and usage analysis.
• Mentor junior product managers and interview product manager candidates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field (B.E/B.Tech or BA/BS).
• 3–5 years progressive product management experience, preferably in a technical or platform domain.
• Strong technical background able to engage in deep‑dive architectural discussions.
• Excellent analytical reasoning to compare technical solutions and justify decisions.
• Strategic thinker who can prioritize, negotiate and execute in a fast‑paced environment.
• Clear communicator who can synthesize complex technical updates into actionable insights.
• Data‑driven problem‑solver who resolves technical disagreements with logic and metrics.
• Personal ownership of subsystem performance and adoption metrics (Intensity).
