Senior Structural Design Engineer – Bridge

About the role

The Senior Structural Design Engineer – Bridge will lead technical design activities for bridge projects across highways, railways and metros, ensuring high‑quality, cost‑effective solutions. You will work within Assystem’s multidisciplinary team in Mumbai, contributing to the full lifecycle of critical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical advisor and provide specialized input to bridge studies and designs.
• Develop study and design procedures that promote high‑quality, cost‑effective work.
• Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
• Prepare construction cost estimates and effort estimates for bridge projects.
• Execute all steps of the PS&E package for the bridge discipline.
• Perform quality‑control reviews of design calculations and drawings.
• Prepare technical specification sections and contribute to engineering budget and schedule planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s in Structural Engineering preferred.
• 7–25 years of experience in detailed bridge design for highways, railways and metros.
• Ability to obtain a PE license in NY and/or NJ within 12 months of hire (preferred).
• Experience working with bridge projects and knowledge of Indian bridge design codes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD and related design software.
• Bridge design expertise, including metro viaduct and station design.
• Knowledge of Indian codes for road and rail bridge design.
