Senior Staff Software Engineer - Search Quality

About the role

We are democratizing Data and AI for every enterprise user, building the retrieval backbone that powers both AI agents and human‑focused search experiences. As a Search Quality Engineer you will own the relevance of results for two distinct users – the AI Agent that needs accurate ground‑truth data and the human employee seeking high‑recall answers.

Key responsibilities

• Own and improve the quality of search results for AI agents and human users across structured and unstructured data sources.
• Design and implement hybrid retrieval solutions that combine keyword‑based search with semantic vector search.
• Develop and tune ranking models to satisfy both human readability and LLM‑ready context.
• Build evaluation frameworks and relevance guardrails to prevent hallucinations in AI agents.
• Integrate heterogeneous data sources such as SQL tables, documents, and real‑time metrics into a unified search layer.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in information retrieval technologies such as Lucene/Elasticsearch, embeddings, and ranking algorithms.
• Strong obsession with relevance metrics (nDCG, MRR, Precision@K) and experience building human‑in‑the‑loop or LLM‑based evaluation pipelines.
• Ability to bridge classic IR techniques with modern Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) approaches.
