Senior Software Engineer – Infrastructure

About the role

At Databricks, the Networking Infrastructure team builds core connectivity services for our data and AI platform. As a senior software engineer you will design and implement backend services that power millions of virtual machines and enable scalable communication between control and compute planes.

Key responsibilities

• Build new backend connectivity services that support millions of VMs running on Databricks.
• Lead the design and development of services that connect the control plane with the compute plane, improving scalability and cloud resource efficiency.
• Collaborate with product management, operations, and other engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable networking systems.
• Tackle novel multi‑cloud and distributed systems challenges in a fast‑paced environment.

Required profile

• 6+ years of production‑level experience in Python, Java, Scala, C++ or a similar language.
• 3+ years developing large‑scale distributed systems from the ground up.
• Experience working on a SaaS platform or with service‑oriented architectures.
