Senior Software Engineer - Flutter

About the role

GentleGentle is a fintech investment platform for young Indian retail investors. As the senior‑most Flutter engineer you will own the mobile app end‑to‑end, shaping its architecture, performance and releases while working closely with the founders and design team.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the iOS and Android Flutter codebase, including architecture decisions, feature development and app store releases.
• Audit and refactor the existing code delivered by an external agency, raising quality and security standards.
• Define and enforce state‑management and architectural standards using Bloc / flutter_bloc.
• Integrate REST APIs from the Node.js backend, handling authentication, error states, caching and offline behaviour.
• Establish engineering hygiene: code reviews, testing strategy, CI/CD pipelines and release management (Play Store / App Store).
• Monitor performance, debug production issues with crash‑reporting and analytics tools.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level Flutter engineers as the team expands.
• Collaborate with founders on roadmap feasibility, estimates and technical trade‑offs.

Required profile

• ~5 years of mobile development experience, with at least 3 years building production‑grade Flutter applications.
• Strong expertise in Bloc / flutter_bloc, including event/state design and testing.
• Deep understanding of Flutter fundamentals, widget lifecycle, render pipeline and composition.
• Proficiency in Dart (null‑safety, async/await, streams, isolates).
• Experience delivering multiple apps to the Play Store and/or App Store and iterating post‑launch.
• Hands‑on experience integrating REST APIs, including serialization, error handling and caching.
