Senior Software Engineer, Autonomy Applications Engineering

About the role

Shield AI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work on autonomy applications for unmanned platforms across sea, air and space. The role involves close collaboration with customers to integrate and extend the Hivemind autonomy software suite.

Key responsibilities

• Become an expert user of the Hivemind Enterprise Autonomy SDK.
• Develop AI and autonomy capabilities for drones, helicopters, robotic dogs and fighter jet simulators.
• Integrate Hivemind autonomy into customer vehicles and platforms.
• Debug software and API integration issues and deploy AI infrastructure at customer sites.
• Provide technical training and documentation to customers.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to incorporate feedback.
• Travel to customer sites for deployment, training and flight testing (≈30% travel).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field (or Master’s with 2+ years experience).
• 4+ years of industry experience (or 2+ years with a Master’s).
• 3+ years in integration/applications engineering.
• 2+ years experience in a startup environment.
• Ability to travel and stay deployed across India and occasional trips to the USA.
• Fluent in Hindi and English.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in modern C++.
• Intermediate proficiency in Python.
