Senior QA Automation Engineer

About the role

TellM is building an AI copilot that helps households run smoothly, and is hiring a Senior QA Automation Engineer in Bengaluru (on-site). The engineer owns quality across APIs, apps and AI agents, builds test coverage, hunts AI failure modes and makes releases ready.

Key responsibilities

• Design test cases that turn requirements and user stories into structured coverage.
• Build and scale automation for web and APIs using Playwright.
• Run functional, regression, integration, smoke and exploratory testing.
• Hunt AI failure modes such as hallucinations and adversarial prompts.
• Log, track and reproduce defects in Linear and work with engineers until fixes are verified.
• Own release readiness and take part in sprint ceremonies.
• Push forward test strategy, coverage and process.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands-on manual and automation testing.
• Strong grasp of QA methodology, STLC and the defect lifecycle.
• Comfort with Git, CI/CD and SQL, and a working understanding of REST, JSON and HTTP.
• Bonus: experience testing AI/LLM systems, building automation from scratch, and dealing with flaky tests.

Required skills

• Selenium, Playwright or Cypress, and API tools such as Postman or RestAssured.
• Enough Python, Java or JavaScript to write automation code.
