Senior Project Manager

About the role

Join a small, dynamic team within NHS Borders to drive a large programme of change across clinical services. You will work closely with senior service leads to deliver improvement projects that enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Apply a consistent project management methodology to multiple initiatives from planning through to delivery.
• Manage project risks, timelines, budgets and stakeholder expectations.
• Collaborate with senior clinicians and service managers on projects such as laboratory services and theatres.
• Provide line‑management for junior project staff and help shape the team’s workplan.
• Report progress against strategic priorities and contribute to organisational improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering physical or improvement projects in a healthcare setting.
• Degree‑level education or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships.
• Creative problem‑solver who can work both autonomously and as part of a team.
