Senior Project Manager – Banking Digital Transformation

About the role

The Senior Project Manager will lead multiple, complex projects across the banking sector, driving digital transformation, core banking upgrades, and compliance initiatives. You will own the full project lifecycle, ensuring delivery on time, within scope and budget while aligning with strategic business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Define project scope, objectives, timelines, budgets and deliverables in line with business goals.
• Manage all phases of the project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
• Act as primary liaison for executive sponsors, business heads, technical teams, vendors and regulators.
• Identify, assess and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with internal audit and regulatory requirements.
• Lead cross‑functional teams of analysts, developers, testers and third‑party vendors, overseeing resource allocation and performance.
• Provide regular updates to steering committees and senior executives, maintaining comprehensive project documentation.
• Define and execute change‑management plans, integrating change activities into overall project schedules.
• Manage vendor contracts, tracking costs against the project budget.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or a related field (MCA or equivalent preferred).
• 10–12 years of project management experience, with at least 5 years in banking or financial services.
• Proven track record of delivering multiple projects valued over one crore in complex stakeholder environments.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner are preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with project management tools: MS Project, JIRA, Trello, Asana.
• Strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall and hybrid methodologies.
• Experience with core banking platforms (e.g., Finacle) and digital banking solutions.
