Senior Project Assistant, Project Assistant & Driver (Contract)

About the role

The National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis (NIRT) is hiring on a contract basis for three positions: Senior Project Assistant, Project Assistant and Driver. These roles support the institute's administrative and logistical operations in Chennai.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior staff with project coordination, documentation and reporting.
• Maintain records, handle correspondence and perform general office duties.
• Prepare and format documents, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Operate institute vehicles for goods and passenger transport as required.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards during travel.

Required profile

• Senior Project Assistant: Graduate or 12th pass, maximum age 28 years.
• Project Assistant: 12th pass with 5 years administrative experience, or graduate with 2 years experience; typing speed of 35 wpm English.
• Driver: Minimum 10th pass, valid driving licence for heavy motor vehicles, at least 2 years driving experience; maximum age 25 years.

Required skills

• Typing (minimum 35 words per minute in English).
• Operation of heavy motor vehicles (goods & passenger).
